Fire represents the single most catastrophic event, which a building is likely to experience and carries with it, risks to the safety and lives of the occupants. Fires are the most destructive, disruptive and costly cause of damage to property and prevention of these requires both risk awareness and the adoption of good practice. The one excellent way of reducing the probable consequences of fires is the use of an excellent fire protection system. How quickly you recover depends on your choice of fire protection agent. Selection of an extinguishing system should be based on the exact site requirement. Blue Ocean offers a wide range of options for fire protection:

Hydrant Systems
The Fire hydrant allows the fire department to gain access to the fire system quickly and efficiently. By hooking up to a fire hydrant, a pumper gains access to water in a municipal (private) water system at whatever pressure is in the system Blue Ocean is offering a fire hydrant system (a source of water provided to enable firefighters to assist in extinguishing a fire) which is a key element for any water supply system used for fighting fires
Design Overview
The design allows for ease of operation and maintenance. The main valve is a compression type design that closes with the water pressure, providing a positive seal in the closed position.
During operation a hose is attached to the hydrant, and then the valve is opened to provide a powerful source of water, depending on various factors including the size and location of the attached water main.
This hose can be further attached to a fire engine, which can then use a powerful pump to boost the water pressure and possibly split it into multiple streams.
The hose reels are located such that when the user fails to fight the fire, and even if visibility is greatly impaired, he can hold on the hose and follow the path to go back to the location of the hose reel and escape into corridors / protected lobbies / staircases, without being trapped by the heat / smoke of the fire. If the temperature is too high, he can crawl on the floor and spray the water of the hose reel on to himself, gaining a high chance of not being injured.
This design provides maximum water flow with minimum pressure loss. The internal parts of the Fire Hydrant are accessible for maintenance by removing the bonnet. The removal of bolts and nuts provides access to all internal parts of the hydrant. During repair the lubrication chamber remains intact which eliminates the chance of lubricant getting into the waterway. This feature also eliminates chance of damage to O-Ring seals.
Fire Hydrant comes in various forms:
Standpipe, Hydrant Key & Bar
Standpipes are available in single or double. Both comprise of a shaft, a swivel head base, blank cap & chain. Hydrant key and bar is intended for use on underground hydrant valves. The length of the key is sufficient to allow the bar to clear adjacent standpipe or other obstructions.
Hydrant Key & Bar
Single Outlet standpipe
Double Outlet Standpipe
Indicator Post with
Iron Gate Valve
.
The Indicator post is used to control the underground fire service mains. It comes with a window sign to indicate whether the valve is open or closed. The open wrench supplied can be locked to the indicator post to prevent unauthorized operation. Three standard length posts can be supplied to suit the bury depth. Field adjustment may be made by simply cutting the top of the stem to suit the post length.
